During this workshop you will be shown hand building techniques that I use to create my sculptures. Hand building has been used since the beginning of times. It is a simple technique and can be accomplished with nothing more than clay, hands, and a few easily improvised tools. However, a creative process that asks for attention and patience and therefore trains you to be in the moment.

Demonstration of the artist’s work process through clay modelling and subsequent application of pigments.
Modelling of shapes in which the repetition of the gesture and the printing of the fingers remain as a record of the process. Application of colour on surfaces with engobes.
For a better understanding of the work, the demonstration has graphic material.

Creative workshop for all ages. This initiative seeks to provide a creative moment and personal enrichment in which through a conceptual and technical exercise a work will be elaborated together. The created object carries with it a moment in which spontaneous doing, without any formal rule, allows personal questioning and relationship with the other. The work of creation is accompanied with technical support so that it results as idealized.

Workshop on modelling and experimentation of colour in ceramics. Exploring colour in ceramics is at the heart of the workshop. A personal exercise in which the participant is asked to choose the colours, questioning these same choices. In addition to a technical instruction, the most important thing is to develop the colour palette that each person chooses, exploring the choice of colours between those that you like and those that are not pleasant to you. Each participant will have a sense of the reason for their choice and the changes that the experimentation will provide them.

Contemporary art is full of artists self-portraits, or life stories reflected in any type of material and in countless ways, using the body itself or without any reference to it.
Starting from a bank of images of art history, participants will find a form of self-representation, interior and exterior, through the modelling of clay.

Gathering different raw materials in one piece is our proposal. The participants are invited to bring with them something that is no longer useful, but with which they have some kind of affective bond (a piece of wood, metal, a piece or part of a special object that has broken) and that they would like to include in the piece they will create. From this random element, the person decides what will be created and, together, we realize the best way to get there, what technique(s) and what materials may be used. The goal is to find a new life for a broken or spoiled element.
In the second session, already with the fired pieces, we will apply the external element, brought in the first session, in order to integrate it into a single work, so that a piece of memory gains a new life.

Sylvain Fezzoli is an award-winning French designer who explores the properties of porcelain and draws inspiration from nature to create his works in elegant, translucent and timeless ways.
The workshop targets the general public and addresses the particularities and plasticity of porcelain, leading the participants to create a candle holder.

The second workshop by award-winning designer Sylvain Fezzoli is dedicated to ceramicists and artists. Continuing to explore the potential of porcelain in creating beautiful, delicate and functional objects, participants will experiment with the paper clay technique and porcelain painting.

Introduction to the potter’s wheel as a way to produce utilitarian and resistant table ceramics. Throughout the session it will be presented the essential phases to create these pieces, from their beginning from a piece of clay on the potter’s wheel, to their transformation into a resistant piece and ready to use in everyday life.
During the session it will be demonstrated and practiced the basic techniques to shape a block of clay on the potter’s wheel. Each participant will have the opportunity to choose one or two pieces made by themselves that will later be glazed and delivered.
