“I explore movement, rhythm, fragility, and transparency through Chinese bone china, selected for its delicate texture. The process is intuitive and unfolds from sketching to detailed manual work, seeking to achieve tactile pieces with multiple layers of meaning.”
“This exhibition is, in my intention, a retrospective of my work. From the first works, glazed red clay, to the large XL formats. I followed a path passing through other pastes and techniques in between, returning once again to red clay. A 360º rotation. I almost intended to tittle the exhibition “From red to red”.
Initially I used a lot of enamel and drawing, fascinated by color, drawing and working with the kiln and its results, contrasting with the latest works in which form, textures and the recording of places are the most important.”
An exhibition that encompasses two disciplines: ceramics and drawing. The ceramics are a series of medium- and large-format pieces created in 2023 that speak of spiritual stages. The drawings, made in 2025, evoke ancient symbols that speak of the human being as a link in the great universal chain.
The extension and verticality of a black field presents the idea of community and belonging through a group of flowers that cohabit. At first, feelings of security and familiarity guide attention to the collective and its inherent common characteristics – the movement in search of Light.
By contrast, on the opposite side, we notice the singular and its individual experience, a flower where, close to its roots, its infinite possibilities of transformation rest.
Attempts at growth, evolution and new forms of life are, for a moment, limited to blind devotion. With the flowers, emotions become real and more palpable.
In this exhibition, the wall that separates the domestic circle from the public is broken, exposing their disturbing oppositions and similarities, confronting them until their dilution. A message of affective reciprocity where the sculptural elements make us question the roles of all those involved in interpersonal relationships – the Self, the Other and the environment in which we are inserted and create.
25 artists from Benelux, all members of the highly reputed Internationale Academy of Ceramic (IAC), are proud to present their work in this unique travelling exhibition. Through the fusion of their diverse visions and artistic approaches, these ceramists are reinforcing the place of ceramics in contemporary art.

The diversity and specificities of European ceramic production are brought to the public space, and displayed in the República Square. Organized by the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation “Cities of Ceramics”, this graphic exhibition shows the reality the represented countries. A tour that expresses the ceramic identity of each country, based on a vast cultural heritage, the fruit of a long and rich past, and which is reflected in current production, envisioning a sustainable future.
The old ceramics factories of Aveiro, now present only in the memory of the city’s urban space, served as the theme for the work developed by the three Portuguese academies and resulted in the Múltiplos project.
The starting point is the perception of a module as an element that repeats, overlaps and complements itself. Being present in the ceramic production process, it provides a multiplicity of forms and can result in distinct, unique compositions, where clay on its own or in dialogue with other materials, such as textiles or metal, is the dominant note.
The three installations, created by students and teachers, materialize this principle and reinterpret the landscape of the old ceramic industry in the city of Aveiro.
The project “The Poetry of Form” combines the written word and the ceramic creation through the hands of the artist Nuria Figueiredo. The texts about “Dreams” were transformed into works of art that evoke lullabies.

Ceramic tiles inspired by local Arte Nova architecture and the species living in Aveiro’s lagoon. The project, resulting from the artistic residency that took place in the framework of the Art Nouveau. A new EUtopia project, revives the facade as a site of storytelling. Telling new tales of coexistence, extinction, and our rapidly changing relationship to nature
Innovating in tile’ making, and addressing contemporary topics without losing sight of local production long tradition was the challenge launched to artists Bárbara do Rosário [Aveiro] and Oksana Sobol [Lviv, Ukraine] for the artistic residency of the CreArt 3.0 project.
The residency, carried out between May and June 2025, took place at Fábrica Aleluia Cerâmicas, combining artistic creation with an industrial context.
