The Municipality of Aveiro announces the opening of the registration period for the participation in the 16th edition of the International Biennial of Ceramic Art of Aveiro. Artists interested in participating must register between January 1st and 10th February to the Biennial secretariat working in the Aveiro Museum / Santa Joana, Avenida de Santa Joana, s/n, 3810-064 Aveiro or email bienalceramica@cm-aveiro.pt (send trough We Transfer). At the Biennial can participate national or foreign artists, with a maximum of two artistic works with an execution date not exceeding three years, which will be selected by the members of the Jury. The artistic works may be individual or collective. Organized by the City Hall of Aveiro, the Biennial awards three prizes: 13.000 euros for the first prize; 8.000 euros for the second; and 4.000 euros for the third prize. In addition to these awards, the jury may award Honourable Mentions.
The winning works, excluding the Honourable Mentions, will be jointly owned by Aveiro Municipality. The selection process takes place in stages, between 15th march and 31st may 2023.
